Port Blair, July 27: A book reading session was organized for Mr.Pankaj Sekhsaria the author of novel, “The last Wave” at Hornbill nest at 10.30 am today.
During the session the author said that his main aim to write the story was to tell a story in a perspective, which was never told before.
The book tells a story of Harish the aimless drifter, Seema, a ‘local born’ or a descendant of the inmates of the infamous Cellular Jail, Uncle Pame, a ‘Karen’ boatman whose father came to the islands from Burma in the 1920’s and the indigenous Jarawa Community.
During the programme, Pankaj, Samhita Acharya, Prasad and other read out their favourite chapters and mesmerized others.
Pankaj is an author, researcher, writer, photographer, campaigner and academic. He has travelled extensively in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for nearly 20 years as part of his work with the environmental action group, Kalpavriksh. The last wave is his debut novel.
