Port Blair, July 24: The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma recently met the Chief Secretary Mr Anand Prakash and briefed him of the difficulties being faced by the working women at Diglipur and Rangat due to non availability of suitable accommodation for them.
Kuldeep also stated that AN Administration has already allotted land for construction of working women’s hostel at Rangat and requested for his consideration of immediate construction of women’s hostel at Rangat and also at Diglipur so that the working women, who are out of their home for earning livelihood for their family members may get a safe and low-priced place to stay. Kuldeep has also stated that many women hostels, already constructed at various places of the islands need immediate repairing and requested for renovation/repairing of such hostels for the welfare and security of the working women of these Islands. The Chief Secretary gave a patient hearing and has assured to look into the matter.
