Port Blair, July 24: One person has been arrested for committing house theft at Prem Nagar Murda Khari area. Stolen property of worth Rs.100000/- including cash Rs.15, 500/- gold ornaments and household article purchased from the stolen cash have been recovered in theft case.
On 19.07.14 on receiving a complaint of theft in one aged lady’s house residing at Prem Nagar Murdha Khari, the Special Team comprising of ASI M. Abdul Rasheed, PC Ashish Mallick and PC Nagveni under the supervision of DySP(SA) Mohd. Aslam, took up the investigation expeditiously by investigation officer. Initial leads led to suspicion of the complainant’s tenant. The tenant of complainant was questioned, upon which she confessed her guilt and disclosed that she had stolen away cash & cold ear-tops from the house of landlord and had purchased house hold articles for her house from the stolen cash. Later, the stolen property was recovered.
The accused was arrested on the same day and produced before Hon’ble Court from where she has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
