Port Blair, July 21: One staff of Rajiv Gandhi Aquaculture Centre, Kodiaghat and a driver of a private vehicle were attacked and beaten up by four unknown people yesterday near Pathar Gudda Junction.
According to reports, these two people started from Kodiaghat at around 3.30 pm for Port Blair but at Burma Nallah four unknown people asked the private vehicle driver to stop, when the driver did not stop, all four people in a Ford Car started chasing the vehicle.
Finally the Ford Car managed to overtake and block the way of the other vehicle. Soon all four people came out of the car and started beating the two people on the other car. Before the PCR van could reach the spot all the four miscreants, who were reportedly under heavy influence of liquor, escaped. However, after complaint was lodged all four miscreants were picked up police today. Due to load shedding and other works the identification parade could not be conducted today at PS Pahargaon, which according to reports will be carried out tomorrow.
