Port Blair, July 21: The Check Post of Revenue Department at Brookshabad was vandalized yesterday by some miscreants. According to reports some unknown people pelted stones and broke glass panels of the Check Post.
According to sources, the Revenue Department had set up the Check post to keep a check on illegal quarry operations at Brookshabad and very recently strict checking was carried up in all the trucks coming out with quarry materials, which might be the reason behind this attack, some people believe.
As per sources a case has been reportedly registered by Tehsildar Port Blair in this regard. The Revenue Department had a plan to cover the Check Post with CCTV cameras and make the check post fully computerized. Perhaps some forces do not want this to happen.
