Puducherry, July 17: The Government of India has designated Lt Gen (Retd) Ajay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, the Lt Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to hold the charge of Lt Governor of Puducherry.
Lt Gen (Retd) Ajay Kumar Singh, has been sworn-in as Lt Governor of Puducherry on Thursday in a function held at Raj Niwas, Pondicherry. The Chief Justice of Madras High Court administered the oath of office.
The Chief Minister, The Speaker, Ministers, Deputy Speaker, Members of Parliament, M.L.A.s, Chairmen of Corporations/Boards and the Chief Secretary, Secretaries to Government and Officers of the Government of Puducherry attended the Swearing-in-Ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the Lt Governor said that he is honoured and humbled to be here in Puducherry. He further added that he would work in harmony with the Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers for the well being of Puducherry and the welfare of the people.
