Port Blair, July 06: Police have arrested two persons for theft of laptop and other valuables from cars and two wheelers parked near Marina Park area. Three cases have been solved with this success.
On 18/06/2014, in two separate incidents, valuables such as a Dell Laptop, External Hard Disk, Data Card, Pen drives, USB cables etc. were stolen from a Car and a Honda Activa from the parking area at Marina Park and two cases of theft were registered at PS Aberdeen.
“Acting on this case, a team was constituted and continuously deployed in plain clothes at prominent parking places of Port Blair to detect the culprits. One Abdul Majid was on Saturday caught red handed by HC Sanjay Kujur while stealing money from a bag from inside a parked vehicle nearly Netaji Stadium,” Mr. Chinmoy Biswal the Superintendent of Police of South Andaman told Andaman Sheekha today.
Abdul Majid (27) yrs, r/o Atlanta Point was arrested and on his instance, stolen property were recovered from him as well as from his accomplice Visweswar Rao (30)yrs, NSRY Employee, R/o AtamPahad. Both accused have been arrested and remanded to Judicial Custody.
“Visweswar Rao used to drive two wheelers and while stealing goods from Vehicle, Visweswar used to guard while Abdul Majid used to steal items from car. Abdul Majid has somehow developed a trick to lower the glasses of cars and this is how they used to commit the crime,” the SP added.
