Port Blair, June 24: Mr. Tridib Kumar Chatterjee, Honorary Secretary, Publishers & Book Sellers Guild, Kolkata (the organizer of Kolkata International Book Fair) is now on 4 days’ tour to these Islands for exploring possibilities of organizing a Book Fair-cum-Cultural Event in Port Blair.
Mr. Chatterjee accompanied by his local authorized representative Mr. Anadiranjan Biswas, Editor, Baakprotima and Mr. Pradip Kumar Barik, one of the authorities of Kolkata Book Fair Committee met Mr. Anand Prakash, Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration at 3.30 PM on 25th June 2014 in his chamber.
During the discussion with the Chief Secretary it was primarily decided that the envisaged Book Fair will be arranged at Port Blair sometimes during the first or second week of November 2014. The Chief Secretary was pleased to assure that all possible assistance will be extended to the Publishers & Book Sellers Guild, Kolkata for organizing the envisaged Book Fair in Port Blair.
Later, the team also met Smt. Rina Ray, Principal Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration and discussed on the same issue.
