Tribal Welfare dept to prepare vision statement

Port Blair, May 29: The Lt Governor has directed the Tribal Welfare Department to take follow-up action on all actionable points that emerged in the 44^th General Body meeting of Andaman Adim Janjati Vikas Samiti (AAJVS) held on 28.04.2014. These include preparation of vision statement for each of the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups, identification of suitable land for the tribal research institute (ANTRI), holding of national workshop to place in public domain the research driven policy initiatives of the administration etc.

The Lt Governor took stock of the functioning of the Tribal Welfare Department in Raj Niwas recently.
