Port Blair, May 25: According to highly placed sourced the State
Transport Authority has granted a Night Route Permit to a private
transport firm called SS Transport to start bus service between
Diglipur and Port Blair at night hours.
The most important fact is the new night service won’t disturb the
present convoy timing. Such night service will not only save a lot of
efforts and money of Islanders but also help passengers to finish
their work in day time and travel in evening or night hours.
The transporter is reportedly ready with two brand new Air-conditioned
buses to start this service. As per details available here the bus
will leave Diglipur at 10.30PM at night and reach first convey
Baratang at 6AM to avail first convey and reach Port Blair at 9AM.
From Port Blair the bus will leave at 1PM and by utilizing last convey
at Jirkatng at 02.30pm reach at Diglipur at 10PM.
If the high and mighty have decided, nothing can change operating the so called night service, but keeping ISLAND CONDITIONS in mind, one must be EXTREMELY CAREFUL before being taken for a ride. Night sailing would have been far more beneficial.
