Port Blair, Apr 27: The South Andaman Police has seized 1.115 kg of illicit ganja and arrested one person in Port Blair. On an information developed by the district special staff, a raiding party intercepted one person near Shadipur Mosque with a carry bag. On search of his bag, 1.115 kg ganja was recovered. The accused was identified as Raj Kumar, 26, r/o Nayagaon, an auto driver by profession.
On interrogation, the accused disclosed that he procured the ganja from mainland about 2 month back. A case under NDPS Act has been registered at PS Aberdeen. The accused was found to have been involved in theft and robbery cases earlier
The Police party was led by SI Abdul Sajid, I/c PS Aberdeen and included ASI M. A. Rasheed, HC Sanjay, PCs Rakesh Toppo, Ashish Mallick, Mohd. Imran and M. Raja Rao under direct supervision of DySP (SA) Mohd. Aslam.
