Port Blair, Apr 15: The 259th birth anniversary of the Father of Homoeopathy, Dr. Christian Frederick Samuel Hahnemann which falls on 10th April, was celebrated at Hotel TSG Emerald View, Phoenix Bay, in a befitting manner by the A&N State Chapter of IHMA on Apr 13. The birth day of Father of Homoeopathy is also observed as ‘World Homoeopathic Day’.
The Chairman, Port Blair Municipal Council, Shri K. Ganeshan was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme started with lighting the lamp and garlanding the portrait of father of homoeopathy.
The Chairman PBMC recalled the work and spirit of Dr. Hahnemann, who devoted his entire life in building the fortress of homoeopaths. He said homoeopathy is an emerging scientific system of medicine, that can treat diseases in a harmless way and asserted that the homoeopathy being the easily affordable should be promoted.
Dr. Kankar Ghosh, President, IHMA, A&N State Chapter welcomed the gathering, Dr. M.A. Jawed, Vice President, IHMA, A&N State Chapter, gave the key note address, Dr. B. Bindu Kumar, Gen. Secretary, IHMA, A&N State Chapter dwelt on the history and activities of IHMA. The function was coordinated by Dr. Manabika Dutta, member IHMA and Dr. V.K. Nazma Sidhique, Vice President proposed the vote of thanks, a communication said.
