Port Blair, Mar 03: The Member of Parliament was taken by surprise by the Press note released by the Deputy Director (Personnel) of Directorate of Education, which was published in the ‘The Daily Telegrams’ on 2nd March 2014, titled “Education Department clarifies on News Item..”
Condemning this act of the Deputy Director (Personnel) of DoE, the MP today said that the press note issued by his office on 27th Feb 2014, was based on the letter No 10-2/State/Edn/2012/1284 written by the Secretary Cum Director to the MP on 25th Feb.
“The letter is self explanatory which clearly states that the Directorate has agreed to consider the demands of the MP of amending the transfer Policy of teachers working in hard areas of the Islands,” the MP said in a press release today.
He added that the press note issued by the DD (Personnel) is intended to misguide the teachers and the MP has now demanded unconditional apology from the concerned officer.
