Port Blair, Feb 23: The CCS Police Station of Andaman and Nicobar Police has registered a case against unknown persons for bringing disrespect to ‘National Flag’.
On Feb 04 issue, Andaman Sheekha had reported that how National Flags, made up of plastic, were thrown on road by unknown people, hurting the sentiments of people. Based on the report, now a FIR has been lodged.
A similar report was published by Andaman Sheekha on 18 June 2013 where it was reported that a full size National Flag of India was found inside the Garbage bin of Bhatu Basti Junction on 09.06.2013. As per rule National Flags must be kept under safe custody and there is a set rule to dispose off, the National flag in case of damage. However, for this earlier report no such FIR has been lodged yet.
