Kadamtala, Jan 20: In a tragic development one class X student has been killed in a Bus accident this afternoon at Phooltala. According to reports the shaft of the bus broke, perhaps due to overloading, which resulted in the accident. The Class X girl Sageeta Biwas, D/o Sanjay Biswas died on the spot while nine others including the driver, conductor and other seven students got severe injuries. A few are very serious, told PHC Kadamtala Sources.
According to villagers, they had requested the bus owner to repair the bus timely for the safety of public but the bus was not kept in proper shape, which might have resulted in this tragic accident.
Meanwhile in another accident, five passengers were injured as Durga Rani Bus met with an accident at Phooltala village near Kadamtala in the early hours today. The incident occurred when the bus was coming towards Port Blair from Billyground.
According to report the driver of the private bus ‘Durga Rani’ (Lord Bhudha) lost control due to some mechanical failures when it was coming towards Port Blair and plunged off the road in a roadside drain.
