Port Blair, Jan 20: A Road Safety Walk was organized on Monday by the A&N Police as part of the 25th Road Safety Week. Around 300 persons including School students, sports persons, teachers, police personnel and citizens participated in the Walk from Netaji Stadium via Clock Tower & Model School crossing back to Andaman Club. The participants displayed placards & banners with messages of safe road behaviour and chanted road safety slogans. The Walk was flagged off by Shri Sanjay Singh, IPS, IGP(Traffic) in presence of District & Traffic SP Shri Chinmoy Biswal and Dy.SP(Traffic) Shri M.A.Naushad.
Further in the day, Shri M.K.Shukla, Dy.SP and HC Dwibendu Biswas of Traffic Branch spoke on “Drunken Driving Kills” at G.S.S School, Mohanpura before 200 students. At Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya SI G. Suresh Kumar and HC P.K.Das and PC Appal Naidu of Traffic Branch spoke on “How to be a Safe Pedestrian” to 350 students while SI Raja Rao and PC Pandiya Raja delivered a talk on “Safe Driving is Smart Driving” at G.S.S S School Line.
