Port Blair, Jan 07: The Port Blair Municipal Council proposes to develop the Gandhi Park, also known as Dilthaman Tank, into tourist destination with all facilities. The concept of the project involves, boating, musical fountain, laser show, stimulator theatre, rain/sun shelters, public convenience, water slides, food kiosks, benches, lighting, improved walk ways, a small open air theatre (Amphi Theatre) to promote local talents in the field of song, drama etc.
Any development being taken up by the PBMC is on the lines of ‘of the people, by the people, for the people’. Hence, the PBMC also seeks public participation by inviting opinion on the proposal to develop Gandhi Park for tourists.
General public have been requested to offer their valuable suggestion/comments on this proposal. The suggestions/comments shall be addressed to the Chairperson, PBMC. The public shall also furnish their suggestions/comments online at www.anpbmc@and.nic.in by Jan 20, 2014, a communication from the Chairperson, PBMC said here today.
