Port Blair, Dec 18: The Cafeteria “Temptation” was inaugurated by the Vice Admiral AG Thapliyal, AVSM, Director General Indian Coast Guard on 18 Dec 13 at Ship Support Complex near Coast Guard Wharf at Port Blair. The cafeteria “Temptation” will cater to the requirement of Enrolled Personnel and Civilian staff of the units co-located at Ship Support Complex.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director General Indian Coast Guard expressed hope that the newly inaugurated facility will serve as a place for all sailors and civilian staff to unwind themselves besides providing opportunity for informal interaction.
Admiral Thapliyal appreciated the professional and committed approach displayed by the Regional Headquarters during the commissioning of the Coast Guard Stations at Mayabunder and Kamorta by overcoming logistical challenges. He also lauded the SAR efforts put in by the Coast Guard (A&N) during the recent cyclone ‘Lehar’ wherein 32 precious lives were saved. The Director General also expressed his deep satisfaction over the achievement of the Region and urged the officers and men to continue the good work and keep the Coast Guard flag flying high.
