Port Blair, Dec 13: “Imandari, Wafadari, Izzat” should be the guiding force for the Police Personnel while discharging their duties.
The Police Personnel should exercise their duties and responsibilities with utmost competence and commitment. These were the words of advice given by the Lt Governor, Lt. General (Retd) AK Singh to the newly inducted Police Personnel at the passing out parade ceremony of the 68th batch of recruit constable of A&N Police held at Police Lines here this morning. He also complimented the outstanding standard of the Parade.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, the Lt Governor said that while discharging their duties the Police should take special care of the weaker sections of the society including women and children and added that ‘humility in your conduct and pride in your uniform’ should be the mantra.
Describing the A & N Police as the pride of these Islands, the Lt. Governor said that Police force will be further equipped with latest equipments. He called upon the Police to uphold the law of the land as in the eye of the law, everyone, irrespective of their status are equal.
The Lt. Governor also distributed prizes to the best recruits for their overall performance. The 68th batch consisted of 177 recruit constables which passed out today and got inducted into police force. Constable A. Anbeswaran bagged the best overall trainee award, Jegadeshwaran best in outdoor, K. Jagdish Babu best in Un-Armed Combat (UAC), Nazneen Begum best in Indoor, Mrinal Kanti Roy best in drill and Neraj Singh best in firing.
A dog show by the dog squad, weapon handling competition and Un-Armed combat demonstration by police recruits and instructors were also showcased.
