Port Blair, Dec 12: The Coast Guard Intra Region Volleyball Championship – 2013 was held from 09-12 Dec 13 at IDSE, Minnie Bay, Port Blair. A total of 04 teams comprising of players from various units of the Coast Guard participated in the event. The combined team of all Ashore units won the Championship while team from afloat units was declared runners up.
Inspector General VSR Murthy, PTM, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N) was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony and gave away prizes to the winners. The event was also attended by Commanding Officers, Officers-in-Charge of ships and establishments, service personnel and families of all CG units based at Port Blair. Speaking on the occasion, Inspector General Murthy congratulated the winners and all the participants and encouraged them to foster team spirit, competitiveness and physical fitness. He also complemented officers-in-Charge, MRCC (PB) / PRT (A&N) and RSD (PB) and their team for coordinating the event smoothly and flawlessly.
