Port Blair, Dec 09: A delegation of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association led by its General Secretary Shri D. Ayyappan met the Commissioner (Public Works), Andaman and Nicobar Administration and discussed with her various issues of construction of new residential accommodation for government employees. The Association brought to the notice of the Commissioner (Public Works) the urgent need to undertake repair and renovation of government quarters. The Association demanded that land where government quarters exists or dismantled on condemnation should not be diverted for any other purpose and only government quarters should be constructed on such land.
