Port Blair, Dec 08: On the crucial issue of promulgation of A&N Island Public Employment Regulation, Inner Line Permit and Constitution of State Service Selection Board
Port Blair, Dec 08: The Member of Parliament, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray today convened a meeting at 10 am in the Andaman Tamizhar Sangam Mini hall to discuss issues viz. promulgation of A&N Islands Public Employment Regulation, Inner Line Permit, Constitution of State Service Selection Board.
The MP had earlier appealed to Members of all political parties, elected representatives, bar council, voluntary organizations, social welfare and other well wishers to attend the meeting following which representative of most of the political parties and major NGOs attended the meeting.
The General Perception during the meeting was to develop certain mechanism to keep Mainlanders away from Island Jobs. Participants including the MP demanded serious discussions on these three crucial topics in all levels, to safeguard the genuine rights of Islanders. Various speakers from various organization and political parties spoke on the occasion and presented their views.
The Member of Parliament urged all the participants to submit their views in writing so that those views can be compiled as a crucial document for future course of action. Addressing the meeting the Member of Parliament said that these issues must be deal in two fronts, first by organizing protests and second by using pen power.
