Port Blair, Nov 21: In an unfortunate incident today an Indian Tourist from Mumbai passed away at G.B Pant Hospital. According to reports a 24 year old girl named Chetna Thakra from Mumbai arrived Port Blair on 18th of November 2013 with her family. The very next day after arriving at the capital city of Andaman and Nicobar Islands she complained of loose motions and was admitted in G.B Pant hospital on the same day. Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased alleged that the death occurred due to negligence of hospital authority.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, family members said that the girl had the problem of arthritis and also had a wound in back, but the staffs of the G.B Pant Hospital took the wound very light and no dressing was done for the wound, which resulted in infection. They also alleged that her abdomen got swollen but still the staffs never bothered to do an Ultra-Sonography to know the reason behind this.
According to the family members the patient was shifted to ICU this morning and after her condition became extremely critical, three doctors arrived to inspect her at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 noon, the girl passed away. The authorities in G B Pant Hospital could not be reached for a comment.
