Port Blair, Nov 20: When the people of these islands were celebrating festive seasons during Durga Puja, Diwali, Eid, Guru Nanak Devji’s birthday, the employees of ANI Forest and Plantation Development Corporation were haplessly watching them with their family members having nothing to cheer about due to non receipt of their salary/wages since September, 2013.
The Ministry of Environment and Forests will release further monitory assistance to ANIFPDCL only after the cabinet note under circulation is finalized.
Hence the President, ANI Forest and Plantation Development Corporation Employees Union, Kuldeep Rai Sharma has sent a letter of request to the Lt Governor with copies to the Chief Secretary, AN Administration and other officials to expedite returning the said cabinet note with positive comments to the concerned Ministry and also appealed to the Lt Governor to make immediate necessary arrangement for the regular payment of salary and wages of the employees and workers of the corporation and save the employees and workers from starvation any further.
The situation is grave and its ramifications would be disastrous to the employees and workers of the ANIFPDCL in case the AN Administration does not come forward for their help.
