Port Blair, Nov. 14: The Port Blair Small Newspapers Association has condemned the decision of IP Division, A&N Administration to involve a faculty from mainland to deliver a lecture during the National Press Day to be celebrated on 16th Nov. 2013.
In a communication, the General Secretary of the Association today said that it was clearly decided in the press meet called by the Director IP to avoid any kind of extra expenditure by inviting faculties from mainland. In spite of the decision taken with the consensus of the media persons, the IP Division adopting a dictatorship attitude has invited a faculty from mainland to deliver lecture on journalism for few minutes. The to and fro tickets apart from accommodation and travel within the islands will run in lakhs of Rupees, which is a sheer waste of funds, said the Secretary Shri SP Karikalvalavan today.
