Port Blair, Oct 31: The Directorate of Health Services is all set to introduce token system in the OPD block of G B Pant Hospital for the convenience of patients.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha exclusively Dr. B.G Lal, the Medical Superintendent, G B Pant Hospital has mentioned that in this regard tender for the token generating devices was opened on 24th of October 2013.
“Very soon we will send the orders to the tender winner so that they can send their technical team to install devices and give demos to the Department,” Dr. Lall said.
He further added that if the system works properly the DHS will immediately introduce token system.
Dr. Lal said that the Directorate of Health Services will also check whether the system is compatible with the existing Local Area Network of DHS otherwise he said they will have to install additional system, which will take about two to three months.
Nevertheless the good news is that the DHS has not taken concrete steps to introduce token system to ease the problems of patients, who have to stand in long queues at present, for seeing a doctor.
