Port Blair, Sept 02: Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman, Andaman Nicobar State Cooperative Bank, as Chief guest has disbursed loan to the 14 groups of Joint Liabilities Groups in the loan disbursement mela organised by the ANS Coop Bank on 2nd September, 2012. In his inaugural speech Kuldeep has urged the members of Self Help Gourps and Joint Liability Groups to come forward and avail the benefits of various training programmes being conducted by Rajiv Gandhi Coop Training College under the ambit of AN State Coop Union. A total of 14 JLGs have been disbursed loan amounting to an aggregate of Rs. 12, 80,000/- on the occasion for different activities like Tailoring, studio works, event management, food processing, gold covering, and computer job works etc.
An interactive session on the economic condition of SHGs was shared by the members during the session. At the outset, Smti Elizabeth Mary, Women Development officer briefed the benefits and functioning of SHGs/JLGs. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director in his address has explained the various schemes of the bank especially to the women counterparts. K Murugan, Dy Managing Director and a large gathering of SHG and JLG members have attended the mela. Smti Nirmala, Secretary, Jai Ganesh SHG has proposed vote of thanks.
