Port Blair, Aug 13: PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma along with a delegation of the Employees of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Forest and Plantation Development Corporation recently met the Chief Secretary, Mr. Anand Prakash and speaking on various important issues on the revival of the ANIFPDCL, briefed the misery of the employees which is well known to all.
Sharma stated that since 2001 these employees are struggling for their existence with a meager salary as they have been not allowed the 6th central pay commission as yet, besides many facilities have been withdrawn from them due to uncertain future of the ANIFPDCL.
Sharma also stated that the misery of the less paid industrial workers are more precarious who also have not been allowed the benefit of 5th pay commission and requested to take suitable action to the effect that they are not deprived of the arrears to be paid to them as per the 6th and 5th pay commissions recommendations.
Sharma further stated that due to non availability of fund, the salary and wages have become due to them and requested the Chief Secretary to allow fund for the disbursement of their salary and wages from the AN Administration which may be adjusted from the loan assistance as and when received from the Ministry of Environment and Forest. The Chief Secretary has given a patient hearing and assured to look into the matter at his earliest.
