Port Blair, July 11: After bagging other prestigious awards now noted filmmaker of A & N Islands, Mr. Naresh Chander Lal has been selected for Maja Koena award for his inspirational feature film “Gandhi the Mahatma”. The selection for the award has been made by the Centre for Experiencing Socio Culture Interaction (CESCI) an International Organisation based in Switzerland and in India. Naresh Chander Lal will be honoured with the Maja Koena Award in November 2013 at the Madurai.
“This award is not only mine, it is for the people of my native place i.e Andaman & Nicobar Islands as well as to the unique culture of Andaman & Nicobar Islands which has noticed by the world through my film Gandhi the Mahatma. I am proud to be the Son of the Soil,” Naresh Chander Lal told Andaman Sheekha today.
