Sri Vijaya Puram, November 1: The School of Nursing, Sri Vijaya Puram, celebrated the Lamp Lighting and Oath-Taking Ceremony of its 22nd batch of GNM students on October 30 at Lecture Hall 2 of ANIIMS. The chief guest, Dr. Avijit Roy, Deputy Director (Health), encouraged the students to bring a humane touch to every word and deed, reminding them that nursing is not merely a profession but a commitment to humanity.
The highlight of the ceremony was the administration of the Nightingale Pledge to the first-year GNM students by Mrs. Johena Riaz, Matron, G.B. Pant Hospital, symbolising their commitment to compassionate, ethical and dedicated nursing care. Addressing the gathering, the guest of honour, Dr. Subrato Saha, Project Director, ANACS, urged the students to uphold the values of selfless service, dedication and compassion in caring for the sick and vulnerable. Dr. Shiny Varghese, Principal, School of Nursing, extended her wishes to the newly inducted students.
