Sri Vijaya Puram, October 27: A delegation of the Andaman Ship Owners Association paid a courtesy call on the Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Dinesh Sharma, at Lok Niwas, Sri Vijaya Puram, today and discussed various important issues concerning the shipping sector in the islands. During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor was apprised of the challenges faced by the shipping sector, the need to strengthen basic infrastructure facilities at jetties, and measures to further improve passenger amenities and make maritime transport more convenient, safe and efficient in view of the upcoming tourist season.
