Port Blair, July 8: Mr. C. Saravanan, General Secretary, Human Rights Organization in his letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has requested him to take immediate action for construction of two rural roads in Rangat Tehsil of North and Middle Andaman District.
Mr. C. Saravanan informed the Lt. Governor that The Human Rights Organization, Port Blair received a public grievance from the residents of Dasarathpur village Rangat Teshil Middle Andaman for the construction of approach road from their village to Andaman Trunk Road (ATR).
He further informed that the people in the village were settled there long back in the year 1954 under Rangat Teshil and since then these villagers suffering because of non-availability of approach/ connectivity road to ATR.
It was also informed that during rainy season the school going children and old age people cannot even walk on the Katcha Road (Slippery Mud Way). Mr. Saravanan added that he observed that the issue of the villagers is genuine and is the long pending issue from last fifty years.
