Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 08: The Andaman & Nicobar Command commemorated the Silver Jubilee of its raising with a ceremonial Joint Services Parade at Brichgunj Parade Ground. The parade was reviewed by the Commander-in-Chief, Andaman & Nicobar Command (CINCAN), in the presence of former CINCANs and senior military dignitaries.
The parade marked 25 years of dedicated service, commitment and operational excellence, with personnel from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and Indian Coast Guard participating in the ceremony. The event showcased the spirit of jointness, camaraderie and unity that has remained the hallmark of the Andaman & Nicobar Command since its raising.
The ceremonial proceedings reflected the rich traditions and ethos of the Armed Forces, while highlighting the evolution of the Command as a vital component of India’s maritime security architecture. The participation of serving personnel, veterans and distinguished guests added significance to the occasion and provided an opportunity to honour the contributions of all those who have served in the Command, including those who made the supreme sacrifice and contributed to its proud legacy. Unit Citations and Appreciation were also conferred in recognition their sustained exemplary performance, operational excellence and collective commitment to duty towards strengthening the operational preparedness and effectiveness of the Command.
On the occasion, CINCAN released a First Day Cover commemorating the Silver Jubilee of the Andaman & Nicobar Command. The commemorative cover celebrates the Command’s 25-year journey, honouring its history, service and contribution to the nation, while marking a significant milestone in its operational existence.
CINCAN conveyed his greetings to all ranks, veterans and their families on the occasion and called upon personnel to remain steadfast in their commitment to the nation, while continuing to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, operational readiness and service ethos.
