Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 29: ABVP organised a one-day Abhyas Varg and Student Training Camp in Mayabunder, restarting organisational activities in the area after several years with renewed energy. Around 70 students participated in the programme, focusing on leadership, student life, social responsibility and organisational understanding.
The programme was attended by Mr. K. Shanmugam, renowned social worker of Mayabunder Division, as Chief Guest, and Mr. V. Balakrishna, Khand Karyavah, RSS Mayabunder, as Guest of Honour. Dr. Kandimuttu, Vibhag Pramukh, ABVP A&N Islands, and Mr. Satyajit Halder, Nagar Secretary, Sri Vijaya Puram and National Executive Council Member (NEC), were also present.
During the programme, the new Mayabunder Nagar team was announced, with Dr. Rohit Shah – Nagar President; Mr. Nirmal Halder and Mr. Deepak Dahiya – Vice Presidents; Debojit Halder – Nagar Secretary; Rajendra, Ashwini and Thiru Kumar – Joint Secretaries; Dr. M. Siva – Treasurer; Mr. Koushik Barman – Kala Manch Pramukh; Pitta Bharat – Nagar Karyalay Pramukh; Anushree – Sah-Pramukh; Sanjana – Kala Manch Pramukh; and C. H. Bharat Raj – Student for Seva Pramukh. At the Zilla level, Mr. Bani Brata Dass – Zilla Pramukh, Mr. Ram Kumar Singh – Zilla Sah-Pramukh, and Dr. Satyaprakash – Zilla Palak were announced.
The participation of former ABVP workers who had contributed to the organisation in earlier years added special significance to the programme and reflected a fresh beginning of organisational work in Mayabunder after a long gap.
