Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 27: A series of league round matches of the Beach Volleyball Tournament for open Men and open Women were played at the Corbyn’s Cove Beach. The Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism (IP&T), A&N Administration, is organizing the tournament as part of the World Tourism Day- 2026 celebrations in collaboration with tourism stakeholders and allied Departments. The theme of this year’s celebration is ‘Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism’.
The second day of the tournament witnessed more than 18 matches played in the men and women categories which witnessed intense rallies, powerful smashes, remarkable digs, and closely contested finishes, keeping the spectators thoroughly entertained. The lively atmosphere at Corbyn’s Cove Beach, coupled with enthusiastic support from the audience, added to the excitement of the second day’s competition.
The finals of the Volleyball match for men will be played at 4 pm onwards on 27-09-2026 in which S V Brothers will lock horn with Seva Bharat. Meanwhile, In the women’s final played TGCE A team defeated team Two Sisters.
The Tug of War competition for men and women will be held from 4 pm onwards on 27-09-2026. The event is being organised in coordination with the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs and tourism stakeholders. Volleyball enthusiasts and the general public have been invited to witness the thrilling final matches of the tournament and cheer for the competing teams.
