Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 24: A mock drill on disaster mitigation, preparedness and school fire safety management was conducted by firefighters of Fire Station Baratang at Government Senior Secondary School, Adazig, on September 24 as part of the station’s training calendar.
The mock drill was followed by brief lectures for teachers, staff and students on disaster preparedness and fire safety measures.
A live demonstration on the operational techniques of various portable fire extinguishers was also conducted, with teachers and students being involved in the demonstration.
A well-organised drill was carried out by the firefighters, providing the students and teachers with practical experience in dealing with emergency situations.
A total of 14 teachers, three staff members and 110 students participated in the training and practice session.
The school management appreciated the manner in which the training session and mock drill were organised by the firefighters of Fire Station Baratang.
