Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 02: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) President Mr. Rangalal Halder has urged the Director, Directorate of Health Services (DHS) to take immediate action for the repair and maintenance of the non-functional blood testing machinery at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Rangat.
Mr. Halder brought to the attention of the Health Department that the blood testing machinery and related diagnostic facility at CHC Rangat have remained non-functional, causing considerable inconvenience to patients and placing additional pressure on the already limited healthcare services available in the area.
He stated that the non-functioning of essential blood testing equipment is a serious public health concern, particularly for patients requiring urgent diagnostic investigations. Due to the unavailability of these tests at CHC Rangat, patients are being compelled to depend on other healthcare facilities, resulting in delays in diagnosis and treatment, additional travel, increased expenses and unnecessary hardship, especially for people from remote and adjoining areas.
Mr. Halder has requested the Director, DHS, to direct the concerned authorities and technical personnel to immediately inspect the blood testing machinery, identify the faults, undertake necessary repair and maintenance, and replace defective parts wherever required so that the facility can be restored without further delay.
Mr. Halder further appealed to the Health Department to establish a system of regular maintenance, timely servicing and monitoring of diagnostic equipment at CHC Rangat and other healthcare institutions across the Islands, so that essential diagnostic services remain continuously available to the public.
