Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 30: The Department of Agriculture, A&N Administration will be organising a three-day training programme on Natural Farming for farmers of North & Middle Andaman District at ICAR-KVK, Sri Vijaya Puram, from 1st to 3rd September, 2026.
The programme is being conducted under the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) in convergence with the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA). The initiative aims to equip farmers with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in adopting natural farming methods that are cost-effective, sustainable and suited to local farming conditions. A total of 48 farmers from different zones of North & Middle Andaman District will participate in the programme. Among them, 44 farmers are from Mayabunder Zone, belonging to the Webi and Karmatang NMNF clusters.
During the programme, farmers will be sensitised on soil health management, preparation and application of natural farming bio-inputs, crop management practices and other key components of NMNF. The hands-on sessions are intended to help farmers understand how natural farming techniques can be practically adopted in their own fields.
