
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 06: The Party Fund collection of CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee began from 1st August, 2026. D. Ayyappan, Secretary received first contribution from Ripa Biswas, wife of late SC Biswas, former State Organising Committee Member of CPI (M) at her residence at Dollygunj, Port Blair. Her son Abeer Biswas, retired Airforce Officer and CPI (M) leaders P. Sathyapal and Pronob Banerjee were also present on the occasion.
Party members and sympathisers of CPI (M) will undertake door-to-door visit with leaflets throughout the islands.
In an appeal issued at Port Blair, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Orgnaising Committee said that the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, directly under the central government, have many problems like unemployment, price rise, electricity cut, drinking water scarcity, corruption, drug menace, higher education collapse, attack on women, poor health facilities, shortage of ships/boats, lack of democratic governance, etc. During the last few years, CPI (M) has conducted several agitations on these issues. He stated that emerging as the third force in the political arena of these islands, CPI (M) is the only political party in the islands to intervene in all the issues concerning the islanders.
CPI (M) State Secretary appealed to all the well-wishers of the party to contribute generously to the Andaman & Nicobar CPI (M) Party Fund to enable it to strengthen the struggle on people’s issues.
