Port Blair, June 23: In a noble gesture the A & N Police organised a de-addiction camp at the Conference Hall of P. S. Aberdeen on Saturday last. Known alcoholic people of Port Blair city, having past records of domestic violence, nuisance making etc in police stations, were called to attend the camp, which was conducted by two sisters of Bhramha Kumaris, a Spiritual organization committed to self transformation through meditation and positive thinking.
Sister Sharmitha, in detail described the negative impact of alcoholism in social and family life, with which many participants were found deeply touched. A few participants promised to stay away from alcohol always.
The Superintendent of Police, South Andaman, Mandeep Singh Randhawa and the SHO of PS Aberdeen Jagadishwar Rao were present during the meeting.
