Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 02: A delegation of over 20 members of the Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), led by Mr. M. Vinod, President, AATO, participated in the Rainforest Birding Trail organised at Chidiyatapu Biological Park.
The programme provided participants with an enriching opportunity to experience the rich biodiversity of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands while promoting environmental awareness and sustainable nature-based tourism. Members explored the park’s unique flora and fauna and gained valuable insights into the importance of conserving the Islands’ fragile ecosystem.
On behalf of AATO, Mr. M. Vinod expressed sincere gratitude to the Department of Tourism, A&N Administration, for organising the unique initiative. He also thanked the Department of Environment & Forests for its continuous efforts towards biodiversity conservation and the promotion of eco-tourism in the Islands.
A special note of appreciation was extended to Ms. Mira Nambiar, Deputy Director, Chidiyatapu Biological Park, for her warm hospitality, excellent coordination, and unwavering support, which made the programme informative and memorable for all participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vinod urged all tourism stakeholders to include Chidiyatapu Biological Park in their itineraries whenever guests visit Chidiyatapu, stating that the park offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the Islands’ rich biodiversity and further strengthens Andaman’s position as a premier eco-tourism destination. He reiterated AATO’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote responsible tourism, environmental conservation, and sustainable tourism development in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
