
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 31: In continuation of his persistent efforts to upgrade rural infrastructure, Mr. Manojit Halder, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Harinagar, along with Shri Dilip KUmar Das, Panchayat Samiti Member (PSM), today met with Er. Prijith Rekha, Chief Engineer, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, along with two Assistant Engineers from the engineering wing at the APWD Directorate in Sri Vijaya Puram. The high-level follow-up meeting was specifically called to review the current administrative status of major road connectivity projects under the Harinagar jurisdiction. During the interaction, the PRI members closely enquired about the progress of two highly anticipated infrastructure works that had been raised in previous departmental deliberations with the APWD. Updating the delegation on the status of the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) project for the construction of the rural road from the residence of Mr. Joshna Das to the residence of Mr. C.M. Adhikary at Harinagar-5, the Chief Engineer informed that the detailed proposal has successfully moved through the departmental channels and is currently pending for final administrative approval from the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Regarding the crucial demand for the repair and maintenance of the village road connecting T.V. Kulam to Kamlapur village under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Er. Prijith Rekha assured the delegation that all internal technical assessments are complete. The Chief Engineer stated that the department is moving swiftly and the work will be officially floated for e-tender very soon to ensure a timely commencement of the project. In addition to these primary road networks, Mr. Manojit Halder and Mr. Dilip Kumar Das discussed various other developmental and civic issues pertaining to the Harinagar Gram Panchayat. The Chief Engineer took detailed note of the developmental gaps and committed to resolving them in a phased manner. Concluding the meeting, the Pradhan and the Panchayat Samiti Member extended their heartiest gratitude to Er. Prijith Rekha and the accompanying Assistant Engineers for patiently hearing the grievances of the rural populace and for providing firm assurances toward upgrading the rural road network of North & Middle Andaman.
