Harinagar, July 27: In a continuous bid to expedite the long-pending public infrastructure projects in Harinagar, Mr. Manojit Halder , Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Harinagar, held a follow-up meeting today with Mr. Johnvali Shaik, Deputy General Manager (DGM), NHIDCL, Mayabunder. During the high-level meeting, the Pradhan requested an immediate status update on the previously cleared public utility demands.
Responding positively to the inquiry, the DGM, NHIDCL, revealed that the construction of the Modern Technology Toilet-cum-Bathroom Block beside National Highway-4 (NH-4) has progressed significantly and is currently under the official tender process. Furthermore, the DGM assured the Pradhan that the construction work for the adjacent Bus Stand and other pending public amenities will be initiated very soon.
This meeting builds directly upon the administrative breakthrough achieved on July 10, 2026, when the Pradhan secured project commitments following formal directives issued by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of North & Middle Andaman and the Assistant Commissioner (HQ).
The ongoing development plan encompasses: Modern Toilet-cum-Bathroom Block & Bus Stand: Located strategically along NH-4. Three Strategic Bus Queue Shelters: Planned near Swadesh Nagar Bridge (Ward No. 4), Nani Karmakar House (Ward No. 6), and the Anganwadi Centre in Jaipur (Ward No. 1).National Highway Repairs: Overdue road maintenance within the Harinagar Panchayat boundaries.
The Pradhan expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the tender process and urged the corporation to maintain momentum so that local commuters and residents can benefit from these essential facilities without further delay.
