Little Andaman, July 25: The Community Development Block, Little Andaman, under the Directorate of Rural Development, PRIs & ULBs organized a Training Programme on the Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules, 2026 yesterday in the Panchayat Samiti Hall, Little Andaman, under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA). The programme was attended by the Zilla Parishad Member, Panchayat Samiti Members, Pradhans, Up-Pradhans, Ward Members, Panchayat Secretaries, and officials of the Block Administration, who actively participated in the interactive session and discussed the challenges and best practices for effective implementation of the SWM Rules in their respective Gram Panchayats.
In his address, Mr. Belthazer, Block Development Officer, Little Andaman, welcomed all the elected representatives and highlighted the importance of effective implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026 for ensuring clean, healthy, and sustainable villages.
The technical session was conducted by Mr. Rajesh Ray, Domain Expert – C&D, who delivered a detailed PowerPoint and video presentation on the provisions of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Atul Kumar Roy, Extension Officer.
