
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 09: Gram Panchayat Harinagar organised a comprehensive awareness camp on Solid Waste Management to promote a cleaner and greener environment. The initiative was held under the leadership of Mr. Manojit Halder, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Harinagar. The event witnessed active participation from key local dignitaries, including Mr. Sankar Mondal (ZPM), Mr. Dilip Kumar Das (PSM), and Mrs. Mamta Biswas (Up-Pradhan). All PRIs members, representative members of the Billyground Bazaar Market Committee, and around 50 local villagers attended the program. Welcoming the gathering, Pradhan Mr. Manojit Halder elaborately explained the core objectives of organizing the camp. He emphasized the urgent need for systematic waste disposal to maintain public hygiene. Following this, the Panchayat Secretary detailed the specific categories of waste that the sanitary staff of GP Harinagar will collect. The Secretary urged all residents and shopkeepers to cooperate fully with the panchayat administration and sanitary workers to achieve a garbage-free locality. During the interactive session, the participating villagers appreciated the initiative and requested the Pradhan to scale up such programs. They also suggested placing the waste management agenda at the forefront of the upcoming Gram Sabha meeting for wider community engagement. The successful awareness camp concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Dilip Kumar Das, PSM.
