Sri Vijaya Puram, July 02: NSUI State President and PYC Vice President Mr. M.A. Sajid has strongly condemned the brutal attack on a Junglighat youth near Junglighat Petrol Pump by a gang of 20-25 people, and the vandalism of his shop that occurred yesterday in broad daylight.
Expressing deep anguish over the incident, Mr. Sajid said it is extremely alarming that even after more than 35 hours, the police have failed to arrest any of the accused. “When a mob can assault a citizen and destroy property and still roam free for over a day, it reflects a serious failure of law and order in our islands. It is a matter of great shame,” he stated.
Mr. Sajid urged the Andaman & Nicobar Administration and Police Department to immediately arrest all those involved, ensure strict legal action, provide compensation to the victim, and increase patrolling in Junglighat to restore public confidence. He warned that if immediate action is not taken, NSUI along with local youth and traders will be forced to launch a strong democratic protest.
He further asserted that the safety, dignity and justice of every citizen must remain the administration’s top priority.
