Rangat, July 1: On the occasion of National Doctor’s Day, the Panchayat Samiti, Rangat extended heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to the Emergency Response Team of Community Health Centre (CHC), Rangat, for its exemplary service and professionalism in managing the recent mass casualty bus accident involving 52 passengers.
In a message issued by Pramukh Miss Sita Majhi, the medical team led by Dr. Kumar Gaurav, MD (Paediatrics), Senior Medical Officer and Medical Officer In-Charge, and Dr. B. Bindu Kumar, Nodal Officer (Disaster Management) and Medical Officer (Homoeopathy), was commended for its swift, coordinated and dedicated response during the emergency.
According to the statement, 48 injured passengers were promptly assessed and treated at CHC Rangat. Of them, 11 critically injured patients were stabilized and referred to GB Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram, while two patients were admitted to CHC Rangat for further treatment.
Additional information shared by officials revealed that 14 patients had been referred in total during the course of the rescue and medical response.
The Panchayat Samiti also appreciated the tireless efforts of doctors, nursing officers, paramedical staff, AYUSH personnel, ANMs, Community Health Officers, laboratory and X-ray staff, pharmacists, ambulance teams, Civil Defence volunteers, administrative and support staff, as well as off-duty personnel who responded without hesitation to ensure timely treatment and safe transportation of the injured.
Mr. Tapas Roy the Zilla Parishad Member of Rangat today highlighted the extensive coordination carried out under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Shri Deepanshu Vohra (DANICS), who reportedly personally oversaw the emergency response, including halting the line boat service and re-routing boats to Sri Vijaya Puram to facilitate the evacuation and referral of injured patients. The communication also acknowledged the dedicated services of ward boy Sanjay Halder and ambulance driver Laiju for their contributions during the operation.
The message further emphasized that while the overall rescue and evacuation were effectively coordinated, the real credit belongs to the ground-level workers, medical departments, Fire Services personnel and the local administration, whose collective efforts ensured that lives were saved through prompt action and seamless teamwork.
Describing the response as a model of disaster preparedness and emergency medical care, the Panchayat Samiti lauded the team’s selfless service, compassion and exceptional coordination, stating that their dedication brought pride to CHC Rangat and made a meaningful difference during the crisis.
