Sri Vijaya Puram, July 01: The Directorate of Disaster Management, A&N Administration, has issued a weather warning for the next seven days, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 40–50 kmph at one or two places across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The warning is effective from 1st to 7th July 2026.
A Fishermen Warning has also been issued for the Andaman and Nicobar coast. Squally winds with speeds of 40–50 kmph, occasionally gusting up to 60 kmph, are likely to prevail along and off the coasts from 1st to 5th July 2026. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea during this period. There is no Swell Surge Alert for the Andaman and Nicobar coast.
A Farmer Warning has also been issued for the next five days. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 40–50 kmph are likely to occur at one or two places over the islands from 1st to 5th July 2026.
According to the Port Warning, the outlook for the subsequent two days indicates little change in the prevailing weather conditions. Residents, fishermen and farmers are advised to remain alert and follow the advisories issued by the authorities.
