Sri Vijaya Puram, June 23: The body of a Power Department employee was recovered from a water body near Sippighat Junction this morning, prompting a police investigation into the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Mr. P. Abdul Salam, a resident of Wimberlygunj- Bambflat regin, who was employed with the Electricity Department and posted at the Sippighat Site Office.
The actual cause of death is still not clear but s’ources said he was reportedly suffering from seizures, and it is suspected that a medical episode may have caused him to lose balance and fall into the water.
Local residents alerted the police after spotting the body floating in the water. A police team rushed to the spot, recovered the body, and initiated legal formalities.
Police have launched an investigation, and further details are awaited pending post-mortem examination and inquiry.
