Sri Vijaya Puram, June 15: The Department of Tourism, A&N Administration, in collaboration with the Deptt. of Education, Deptt. Sports & Youth Affairs, RD & PRIs Deptt., Tribal Welfare Deptt., SVPMC and with other allied Departments, is organizing the Monsoon Carnival – 2026 from 26th to 28th June, 2026. The carnival aims to position the Andaman & Nicobar Islands as a year-round destination by highlighting the serene beauty, cultural diversity and unforgettable experiences that come alive during the monsoon. Monsoon Carnival will bring together tourism, culture, sports, local traditions, handicrafts, cuisine and community participation, offering residents and tourists an opportunity to experience the vibrant spirit of the islands.
As part of the Monsoon carnival, a knockout Beach Volleyball Tournament under the banner the Beach Sports Fest #VictoryVibes will be organized from 26th & 27th June, 2026 from 3 PM to 8 PM at Corbyn’s Cove Beach in both the categories. In addition to this, a Reel Making Competition – #MonsoonMomentsANI will also be organized by the Department for celebrating the beauty of Andaman in the Rainy Season. There is no age bar for participation in the said competition, however, entries must be original, created within the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and have a duration of 30 to 90 seconds maximum reflecting the theme, Late entries shall not be entertained. The entries will be evaluated on the basis of Creativity & Originality, Storytelling, Visual Quality & Editing, Theme Relevance and Audience Engagement. Besides, the above a Monsoon Food Fest – #MonsoonFlavours will also be held at the ITF Ground from 26th to 28th June, 2026, with participation from registered hoteliers, restaurants owner, Street food vendors, Self Help Groups (SHGs), State Associations, Government Departments and other stakeholders.
